The Importance of Mental Health in the Workplace
Written by J. Crawley on Tuesday, 21 January 2020
Imagine that you had an employee struggling to get into work on time. That they kept being late for meetings when they were at work. Or they’re unprepared for work on a regular basis. They’re not on the ball. Distracted and distressed. Not performing in the way that’s required for their role. They’re not themselves.
Imagine someone who might have a long-term mental health issue. How do you deal with that? Are you failing your employee with the kind of support they need? Do you feel ill equipped to be able to help them when they need support in difficult times?
Imagine the impact that might be having on their team members, their family, their wider community.
What would you do? How could you help?
A few more questions.
Are you the Leader of a growing and evolving company? Do you really care about your customers and want to make sure that business for you and for them is really booming in 2020?
What about your employees, your workforce? How are they doing? You understand that you can’t run and grow a successful business without excellent people at the helm and behind the scenes, don’t you?
JCM Medical Advisors can help. 2020 really is a big year for change for a lot of companies, leaders and business owners – a new approach for a new decade.
What vision do you have for your company? And for your clients?
What vision do you have for your employees? How much do you want to improve productivity and how the people in your organisation are supported in those times of growth – and in particularly challenging times?
Education about mental health awareness is more important now than ever… because it’s more topical than ever before.
But if you are concerned about cost and the time it may take to get any kind of training in place – consider asking in turn, what cost could impact your company through the loss of people and productivity?
Again, JCM Medical Advisors can help. Being aware of mental health illness really is essential for any business – large or small. For individuals. The support you can offer your employees is crucial for their wellbeing and for productivity.
JCM Medical Advisors are proud to say that their training is here to support you to manage wellbeing and mental health proactively and minimise the impact of mental health illness in work and life – for you and your employees.
We are MHFA (Medical Health First Aid) England trained, and are experts in our field in first aid at work. We work with you to the highest standard in offering training to you and/or key members of staff that complements and enhances any wellbeing and mental health strategy you may already have in place. If you don’t have one, we can help to get you started, guiding you along the way.
We understand that you may be concerned about how much time it takes to train someone and how that impacts your budget, remember – 2 days in training can save you time and profit lost through non-attendance of staff members because of mental ill health.
Which is the most important to you?
JCM Medical Advisors can run bespoke courses for organisations needing more than 5 people trained, but we also run courses that people can book in advance.
